Please do your customers a favor and find a better place to buy parts than Autozone/Advance/Oreilly. I'm currently looking for used OEM parts after having repeated failure of a low-end store part.

Filters don't stop as much as you think. Magnets will remove particles that the filter can't....they are beneficial. Putting a magnet on the filter will only help remove those particles, as they do mix with and travel through the engine with the oil. A magnetic plug will only catch some of the particles as they settle down when the engine is shut off. Run an engine for 3000+ miles with a magnet on the filter and drain plug, you'll be amazed at how much debris will get stuck to it...all of that debris makes it past the filter....

Yeah my buddy had an 87 Dodge Dakota 4cyl, I drilled a small hole so I can observe where I need to cut first. Patched with small screws after we were done. He lived in an area where you couldn't do any work on cars. Been 8 years, no issues.

I use these for air hoses, coolant hoses, and electrical connectors.

Why don't you use that same pry bar and push the piston in with it then the caliper will easily come off so your not teaching the right way

😂I call them circle pliers they’re clutch for injectors that won’t budge.

Take out thermostat, turn on engine, check to see if there's circulation and go from there. And did fans come on when engine was approaching hot.

Cap would be creamy n the oil

Some brake pads have like little bumps that hold them in place, instead of prying it up, you wanna go sideways and compress the piston in slightly and it will fall right off, don't wanna do to much but about 1/8 inch and then compress the caliper back with the tool or a c-clamp

Before anybody or anyone wants to be or going to be a mobile mechanic or a mechanic the first thing is to be honest with your customer that is the key point of everything is honest The reason why is your customer is what's paying your bills so that's why it's so important to be honest with anybody no matter what happens and honesty will get you further in life than anything else That's a fact and be safe

Waterpump or thermostat. All the tests you did should have revealed some coolant in the oil ,tail pipe and fluid.

You're assuming that all filters are created equal

In a dream maybe. In reality you might make enough to survive. Only guys that make rip offs that replace components with out diagnostic or just laying to costumes that they did. Every job I getting called on someone already replaced something (like fuel pump for 300-400 hundred labor) And wen I get there it’s going to be completely different problem like connection in fuse box or something else but newer components that someone replaced and made quick money and did not fix the problem. I’m sure there is a cemetery for crock’s like that. But I you do things right way with right parts (that you have to order most of them and than go back and do it. If you get lucky usually customers find someone cheaper by the time you get parts, there are to many people that do that for less than I’m getting paid in a shop for same job with no hustle. So it’s not easy Field to BE in.
